Brown Snake

Brown Snake ~ Storeria dekayi 

  • Adult body length: 9 – 13 inches
  • Body length at birth: 2¾ – 5 inches
  • Breeding period: spring and fall; young born June to September
  • Young per year: 3 – 31
  • Typical foods: earthworms, slugs, snails
  • The Brown Snake is Non-Venomous. The color of this snake

    varies in brown. They have a white stripe going down the center

    of their body, with normally rows of white stripes border the stripe.

    This snake is fairly small, eating slugs, snails, and earthworms.
