Sidewinder ~ Crotalus cerastes

Adult body length: 43 – 82 cm

Breeding period: April to May

Young per year: 5 to 18 young per year

Typical diet: Small mammals

The Sidewinder is a small snake and

is a Rattlesnake. It is a venomous snake

that is found mainly in deserts or on

 rocky hillsides. The Sidewinder got its

name for it moves sidways.  It throws its

body lateral waves and pressing down on

two points of its body giving it the leverage

to move sideways.
